Our Church

God has really been blessing our church. Many of our youth have recently been saved. We are seeing our numbers increase. The Holy Spirit has really been helping in our services. We have a lot going on. Next Thursday 7/17 we will be having a singing group from Hobe Sound Bible College. We have a community invite picnic coming up the 19th. Tabby and Miranda have been working really hard with the Children's church. We are hoping to start a puppet ministry on a regular basis. I can't wait to see all that God has in store for our church. Please keep us in your prayers.

First Christmas

It's exciting to share first holidays with a new baby. Of course at just one month Josiah wasn't excited as mom and dad. But we had a great time and of course all the grandparents aunts and uncles had to spoil him rotten. It's amazing how such a little bundle can bring so much joy into your life. It refreshes the true meaning behind Christmas. To think that a little child born so many years ago could impact an entire world. Now our child has the chance to make an impact of his own.

Josiah's Dedication

My parents wanted to make sure that from an early age I would learn to trust God. They thought that I needed to learn this lesson so much they had me dedicated 2 times. Once at Batavia and once at Haverhill. Revs. Hart and Mayle did a wonderful job instructing my parents on how to raise me to serve God. Here are a few pics to show you how things went.

As you can tell from these pics everyone has grown to love me very quickly. I know they just can't help it because I'm soooo cute.

Growing fast

Josiah is growing fast. By the time he was 2 months old he was already sleeping through the night. What a relief. He seems to be hitting every mile stone early. Of course he is our child!! :) It's an amazing thing to think that we are parents. Some times that reality doesn't truly sink in until you see him do something spectacular. What an amazing God we have. He gave us this wonderful child. Now we need all the prayers to help us raise him.

When I was only 10 days old mommy and daddy took me to Sears to have my pictures taken. I tried to be really good. I kept trying to lift my head up which I shouldn't be able to do yet, but that's not going to stop me. Here are the results. Do you think I have a career in modeling?

Josiah

Hi everyone!! This is Josiah. Mommy and daddy brought me home to my new house. I couldn't believe all the toys that Aunt Erkie had already bought. Along with all the toys that the rest of my family bought me I felt pretty special. I won't be spoiled at all. I hope they never stop buying me toys. And clothes. I really like clothes. Well, mommy and daddy thought they would do OK with me since daddy's a nurse he thought that his classes had taught him everything he needed to know to take care of a baby. Boy was he wrong. It's a lot different taking care of me then his big patients. I wiggle and squirm. I scream and cry. He's not used to that. But it's fun watching them learn. I'm trying to take it easy on them since this is their first time. I don't want them to be too discouraged. I need brothers and sisters to play with. :) But with all the family around they have lots of help when they are in a pinch. My mamaws and papaws are great. They spoil me and love to play with me so mommy and daddy can get a break. I have great aunts and uncles too. I don't think Uncle JT knows what to think of me yet. But soon I'll be following him around to play basketball and ride bikes. Even go fishing. I might have to show him a thing or two. It's great to know that I have such a loving family. I hope they they are just as happy to have me join them.

Coming home

We finally get to bring Josiah home. Who knew that those car seats could be so complicated? Mamaw Stewart was nice enough to stay for a week or so to help out. We were so thankful for that. Then Aunt Erkie had to get her time in too. They were both a great help. Josiah's room was all ready for him.

Hospital Stay

We were in the hospital for three days. Which meant that we spent thanksgiving in the hospital. But we couldn't be any more thankful then when we first heard Josiah start to cry. His lungs were working overtime from the start. We had to stay an extra day because Tabby passed out and fell to the floor. But it wasn't anything that a little KFC couldn't fix!

New baby!

It's seems funny to blog about a new baby now that he is 7 months old. What a change a baby can bring into your life. No more spur of the moment travels. It takes planning and packing and preparing. There is no more sleeping in. Even on weekends. But I wouldn't trade it for the world. Josiah Wayne Kennedy came into our lives on Nov. 21, 2007. Weighing 7lbs and 10oz. And having a full head of hair. Life couldn't be any better. Daddy and grandma Stewart were in the delivery room with mommy. Everything went smoothly thanks to the wonderful Dr. who administered the epidural. Now our lives are upside down.

One more time

We are once again going to try and keep a blog. I didn't realize that it had been close to two years since I had last tried to blog. Since then we have had a baby. Been made the assistant pastor of Batavia Pilgrim Holiness Church and well... There has been a lot happening. So we will see if this time we can be a little more disciplined. Maybe we will have something interesting to tell then again maybe not! But we will give it a try.

Jr. Church class

We want to thank the Lord for how He has been working in our Jr. Church class. We've had some brothers coming that aren't raised in a Christian home and it is exciting to see how God is helping them. The oldest brother asked Jesus into his heart and he has been praying and reading his bible. It is such an encouragement. Just when you think that all is in vain, God shows you that He is still in control and He is still working. They are a rambunctious crew of kids, but we love them and we wouldn't have them any other way. Last Sunday, one of the younger brothers asked for prayer. Please keep them in your prayers. They love coming to church and that is a blessing in itself. They love it so much that their parents punish them from coming if they are bad, so they try to be on their best behavior ( as best as they can). Their names are Charles, Chance, Jeremy, Austin and Kenny. These young boys need our prayer and support. They may be the next great pastor or evangelist. We never know. We are glad to be a part of this ministry. Our theme right now is the 10 Commandments. The young people have been learning these and memorizing them. Miranda and Tabby have been working with them. Keep us in your prayers.

update and new website

I really enjoy looking at everyone's blog and I don't really keep up with mine so I thought that I would try and start blogging again. First I would like you to check out what I have been busy with. I have created a new website for my home church. You can view that here. www.pilgrimholiness.org I am going to try and add sermons music and updates about our church. So stay tuned.

As for Tabby and I things are going wonderfully. We celebrated our one year anniversary on Sept 24. I can't believe it. It has been a wonderful year. God has blessed us in many ways. He brought comfort when Tabby lost her grandfather a few weeks back. He brought patientce when both our cars broke down a couple weeks ago. He has really been helping us in preaching engagements at Lexington and other churches. And he has really been giving us some good services at our home church. I trust that you will all continue to pray for us. Look back soon for more updates with pics.

I am on a roll. I continue to post a blog about once a month. There has been so much happening since I last posted. A few wonderful vacations, a wonderful church camp, and some great fishing. Tabby and I spent the last weekend of June at the Pilgrim Holiness camp in Marion, IN. That was wonderful. There were about 450 people there Sun night. God was really moving in a wonderful way. It was so good to see a lot of people that I haven't seen in a few years. I also got to go back and see my old college, Indiana Wesleyan. That place is now huge. I couldn't believe all the new buildings that are there. The following weekend we were able to visit with my parents up on Lake Erie. That was a blast. We took JT, Tabby's brother, who had never been camping. I think we all enjoyed it. The fishing up there is wonderful right now. We caught 30 walleye in just a few hours. But, then the boat broke down, and we had to be towed back in. That took about 3 hours. But we really enjoyed ourselves. God has been blessing us with so many wonderful experiences lately. I can't wait to see what He has in store for us next.

Jail Ministry

We had two wonderful services at the Hamilton County Justice Center today. God really helped in a wonderful way. It is such a blessing to be able to minister to those men. I feel that I am very blessed for the ministry opportunities that God has given me but I don't know about you it never seems like we do enough. I was listening to Hannah and Eric's stories since they came back from Honduras and it really puts a burning in my heart to do more for God. I just want to do everything that God wants us to do. Please continue to pray for the ministry there at the jail.

I know that some people are critical of a jail ministry but I can assure you that we are seeing results in a wonderful way. Men are coming to our church when they get out of jail and Jack is helping them find work when they get out. There are many that we don't hear from again unless they end up in the jail again but even if one person makes it to heaven because of the work it will be worth it all.

I am horrible at this blogging thing. I keep forgetting to post. That may just mean that I don't have much going on in my life to post. It seems like nothing is going on but I seem to be busy all the time. Isn't that how everyone feels at some point? I am at this moment taking a break from trying to get something together for the Wed. Service on local missions and how to get the church more involved. It seems that many churches have lost the vision of the mission fields right in their own backyard. It is necessary to support foreign missions and for people to go to the foreign fields but there are many that we come into contact with each and everyday that we are failing to witness to. Where does that leave us. I sometimes find myself being so lazy when it comes to the things of God. I pray for others who are doing the work but what am I doing for the calling that God has put upon my heart? Each and every Christian has the responsibility to witness to others and invite them to church but we leave it up to the pastor or someone else. What is our response going to be when we reach the judgment? I have tracks that sit in my car with every intention of handing them out but they still just sit there. I am not confessing to make myself feel better, but to try and toss around ideas that might stir up a good thought to share with my church tomorrow. Well, this wasn't what I intended to do but this is what came out. Just take it for what it's worth.

Camp Meeting etc.

I hope that life is treating everyone well. This week starts the camp meeting at GBS. Please be much in prayer for them. I can't believe that it is already the end of the school year for them. Time really seems to be flying by the older I get. (No comment Erkie.) But things have been going really well for us. We are trying to grow a vegetable garden this year. I wish that I had soil good enough for a garden but I had to take it to my parents new place. I'm hoping to be able to share some great vegetables with everyone. Who knows maybe I'll even have some for the family reunion. I hope that all of the Kennedys can make it to that. I'm glad to see how everything is going for Hannah and Eric in Honduras. We need to keep them and the water situation at the top of our prayer list. Eric and Hannah will be coming back soon to have the newest addition to the Kuhns/Kennedy/Jarasat family. Everyone is anxiously waiting and praying for them. Well, I believe that I have rambled enough for one blog. Everyone have a great day. Wayne

nothing new

I can't believe that it is already May. For those of you who don't know I recently started a new job in Home Health Nursing. I really enjoy working on day shift. It was a big change at first but I have gotten used to it. Things are going really well for Tabby and I. This month we will mark our 8th month of marriage. It's hard to believe that we will soon be celebrating our 1 year anniversary.
We also have two crazy dogs, Max and Gremlin. They are terrors but they have grown on us. Anyone have any ideas on how to make them stop digging?!?
